Russia struck Ukraine with a Rubezh intercontinental ballistic missile - the first time such a weapon has been used (video)
The terrorist country has overstepped all permissible limits in its unmotivated aggression against Ukraine.
Early this morning an intercontinental ballistic missile struck a peaceful city with a population of one million in the Dnieper.
Here's What We Know
This is the first combat use (we emphasise, on a peaceful city!) of an intercontinental ballistic missile in history.
According to available information, the occupants used a missile "Rubezh" (Rubezh) with separable warheads. When the missile reaches its target, it opens up and releases six blocks, which, in turn, split into six more warheads. Thus, the city was struck by 36 submunitions.
This moment is captured on video:
Under international treaties, countries with intercontinental ballistic missiles are required to notify others of launches. Of course, Russia has once again spit on all agreements.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Ukraine will be able to fight the Rubezhs effectively, since the missile must be shot down at the flight stage before it has dropped its warheads.
It is high time for the international community to realise that statements of deep concern will not stop Russia, as the aggressor understands only force.
Estimated technical characteristics of the RS-26 "Rubezh":
- launch weight - within 40-50 tonnes
- warhead mass - 1.2 tonnes
- flight range - up to 6000 km
- strike accuracy - up to 150 metres
- can carry a nuclear warhead.
