Lexus presenterade den uppdaterade RZ (2025): mer kraft, ratt med tråd och virtuell "mekanik"
Lexus held the world premiere of the updated RZ (2025) electric crossover, which gets more powerful powertrains, increased range and a new steering-by-wire system. The new RZ was unveiled in Brussels alongside new and updated electric vehicles from the Toyota brand.

A new Steer-by-Wire steering system
For the first time in Lexus history, a crossover has electronic steering without a mechanical link between the steering wheel and the wheels. Lexus says the "Steer-by-Wire" system provides more precise steering and reduces vibrations in the steering wheel, especially on twisty roads. The driver gets smoother and more predictable responses, which adds to the driving comfort.
Different power levels
The updated Lexus RZ model line-up includes three versions:
- RZ 350e - 224 hp.
- RZ 500e - 380 hp.
- RZ 550e F SPORT - 408 hp.
The RZ 550e F SPORT version is not only the most powerful, but also has the Interactive Manual Drive system, which simulates gear changes, creating the feeling of driving a car with a "manual".
Increased range and faster charging
Lexus has updated the BEV system with a new 77.0 kWh battery pack. This battery increases the range by about 100 kilometres compared to the previous 71.4 kWh version. Exact figures are not yet specified, but considering that the pre-reform crossover has a range of 440 kilometres in the WLTP cycle, we can expect about 540 kilometres.
Faster charging
Thanks to increased battery capacity, changes to the battery pack design and the installation of a new 22kW AC on-board charger, charging performance has also been improved. In particular, charging at low temperatures has been improved thanks to a new battery preheating function. As a result, charging times are reduced by around 30 minutes.
Increased towing capacity
All-wheel-drive versions of the Lexus RZ can now tow trailers weighing up to 1,500kg. That's double the previous towing capacity.
Updated interior
Lexus has introduced new materials and equipment for the interior of the RZ:
- Ultrasuede suede with laser engraving (30 per cent plant-based material);
- an animated lighting system that creates the effect of changing shadows;
- panoramic sunroof with blackout;
- an electronic rear-view mirror.
What's next.
The updated Lexus RZ 2025 will be the flagship of the brand's electrified line-up. European sales launch is expected in autumn 2025.
