Apple has introduced a new USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable in sky blue, which matches the design of the new MacBook Air models with M4 processor.

Here's What We Know

This colour replaces the previous "Space Gray" version that was available earlier.

The new 2 metre cable allows you to charge your MacBook Air with MagSafe instead of the traditional USB-C. The MagSafe magnetic connection has the advantage that if the cord is accidentally pulled, the cable disconnects, preventing the laptop from falling. This is especially useful for those who frequently move around with their device.

The new cable is sold separately and can be purchased if you need an additional cable or want a different colour. The new MacBook Air comes with a MagSafe cable, so the additional option is only necessary for those who want a spare or want to change the colour.

In addition to sky blue, Apple also offers cables in other colours: space gray, midnight, starlight, space black and silver. The price of the new cable is $49.

The two new MacBook Air models feature the powerful M4 chip, which is twice as fast as the MacBook Air M1 in performing common tasks and three times more efficient in AI. The new model supports all the features of Apple Intelligence.

As before, Apple offers customers laptops with 13" and 15" screens. The computers have 10 CPU cores and up to 10 GPU cores, and support up to 32 GB of combined memory instead of the previous 24 GB. As standard, the device comes with 16 GB of RAM.

Thanks to the increased performance, the MacBook Air can now output images to two external displays with a resolution of up to 6K, while keeping its own screen running - previously this was only possible when the laptop lid was closed.
