Nya Audi A6 Avant - Audis mest aerodynamiska kombi med förbränningsmotor - har avtäckts

Audi has unveiled the next generation A6 Avant, a stylish station wagon that will rival the BMW 5-Series Touring and Mercedes E-Class Estate.
Here's What We Know
The new A6 Avant has become Audi's most aerodynamic station wagon with an internal combustion engine - the coefficient of drag (cd) is 0.25. The length of the model has increased by 60 mm and now reaches 4,990 mm.

The A6 Avant is based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform. This platform opens up the following features:
- adaptive air suspension (optional);
- all-wheel drive chassis system (optional);
- a new quattro sport differential (for all-wheel drive versions).
All equipment comes standard with progressive steering, which is claimed to provide more direct feedback than before. Combined with a stiffer body and slightly increased front wheel camber, this system promises to improve steering response and make steering more engaging.
Engines and hybrid technology
The new A6 Avant will be available with petrol and diesel engines. All are fitted with the 48-volt MHEV Plus mild-hybrid system, allowing:
- generate an extra 24bhp and 230Nm;
- recover energy during braking;
- electrically assisted driving in low-speed manoeuvres, e.g. in car parks.
Available versions:
- 2.0 TFSI (petrol, 204 hp);
- 3.0 TFSI (petrol, 367 hp);
- 2.0 TDI (diesel, 204bhp);
We can also expect plug-in hybrid versions in the future.
Interior and technology
- digital instrument cluster and up to three displays;
- panoramic sunroof with adjustable dimming;
- Bang Olufsen audio system;
- four-zone climate control.

What's next.
In addition to the station wagon, Audi is preparing an A6 sedan, and later there will be an A6 Allroad version with off-road character. The sporty RS6 Avant will also return, which, according to rumours, may get a hybrid V6 instead of a V8.
