American electric car manufacturer Rivian has announced the release of a special California Dune Edition for its R1T and R1S models. The new versions are based on three-motor modifications and are inspired by the landscapes of the California deserts.

California Dune Editions feature an exclusive 'California Dune' body colour combined with black exterior accents. Specially designed for the series are 20-inch wheels available in "California Dune" body colour or in a contrasting shade of "Satin Graphite".
The special versions come with the All-Terrain Package, which includes an air compressor and underbody protection. The roof is equipped with crossbars with Maxtrax sandtrack mounts. R1T California Dune Edition is additionally equipped with a spare wheel and electric cargo bed curtain.
The interior of the California Dune Editions features Adventure styling with a combination of Sandstone and Black Mountain upholstery, complemented by dark ash wood trim and stylish Chilewich mats.
Dynamic performance is provided by a three-motor powertrain developing a combined output of 850 hp (634 kW) and 1,494 N⋅m (1,103 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the high power and Max battery pack, California Dune Editions are capable of accelerating from 0 to 96 km/h (0-60 mph) in 2.9 seconds, with an EPA range of 329 miles (529 km).
The Rivian R1T California Dune Edition starts at $99,900, while the R1S California Dune Edition starts at $105,900. The estimated delivery time is 1-6 weeks.
