Det första fallet av smältning av kraftporten på flaggskeppets RTX 5090 FE-grafikkort har rapporterats

Well, the day has come: the first case of RTX 5090 graphics card power port melting has been recorded.
Here's What We Know
GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition is a flagship GPU from Nvidia, which was released in January 2025 and is characterised by higher power consumption.
One of Reddit users reported that while playing Battlefield 5 (note that it's not the most modern and, consequently, not the most demanding game) he smelled a burning smell and found out that the power connector and the cable through which RTX 5090 is connected to the Asus power supply had smoked, which, by the way, was also affected.
The gamer emphasised that he knows how to connect such devices and is sure that he did everything right. However, it turned out that to connect the video card he used not a special cable that comes with the kit, but a model from a third-party brand Moddiy. Apparently, this was the cause of the problem, although the user claims that before that he used the specified connector for two years to connect the RTX 4090.

Note that similar issues were observed with the RTX 4090, but Nvidia replaced the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector with a more reliable 12V-2x6 connector after it was discovered.
