Koreas svar på Teslas Cybertruck: KGM SsangYong har visat upp den eldrivna pickupen Musso EV

SsangYong, which now officially goes by the name KG Mobility, has unveiled its first electric pickup truck, the Musso EV. This is a production version of the conceptual O100, shown in 2023. Already in the first quarter of this year, the novelty will enter the market in South Korea.
Here's What We Know
KGM SsangYong's Australian division KGM has confirmed plans to bring the Musso EV to the local market, but there is no exact timeline yet. It is also possible that the model may be rebranded before going outside Korea.

While exact specifications have not yet been revealed, the pickup's design hints at a kinship with the Torres EVX electric crossover. This means the Musso EV is likely to get a front-mounted electric motor with 152 kW (207 hp) and 339 Nm of torque. Also expected is BYD's 73.4 kWh LFP battery, which in the Torres EVX provides a range of up to 462 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.
Stylistically, the Musso EV is very close to the 2023 concept, retaining the unpainted plastic wheel arch covers, the massive arch behind the cab and the distinctive alloy wheels. The pickup appears to have a load-bearing body rather than a frame platform like the Musso with internal combustion engines.
KGM Mobility is positioning the new product not only as its first electric pickup, but also as the first vehicle of this type from South Korea. This means it will hit the market earlier than potential competitors from Hyundai and Kia.
