Instagram lägger till nya funktioner i Reels på grund av TikToks blockering i USA
Starting from the beginning of next week, TikTok may be banned from US app stores, so Instagram has decided to add new features to its Reels video functionality, which is analogous to TikTok.

TikTok will be blocked in the US on 19 January. This decision was made by the US Supreme Court. Instagram aims to capture a significant number of TikTok users after the ban, including content creators who earn money through social networks.
One of the main new features will be the new Reels feed, which will display videos that your friends have liked or commented on. Now you can see what your friends have watched and liked, and they can see your likes.
This new friend recommendation feed also gives you the opportunity to "start a conversation" with someone who has liked a video. For example, the feed can prompt you to reply to a friend's like when their profile and heart icon appear on the screen. Your reply will be sent directly to the person who liked or commented as a personal message.
"We want Instagram to be not only a place for entertainment, but also a platform where you can connect with your friends," said Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri in a video announcing the changes.

Instagram used to have a separate Activity feed that showed similar recommendations, but it was removed a few years ago. It is not yet known whether Instagram will provide an option to disable the new feed.
These changes are gradually being implemented in several countries and are planned to be expanded in the future. If TikTok is banned in the United States, Instagram may attract some of the users of this platform.
