Hyundai har avslöjat mittplatsen fram i nya Palisade: den är inte lika bred som förarsätet, men den är inte heller i barnstorlek
The second-generation Hyundai Palisade was unveiled in early December. The Korean automaker then announced a nine-seat version of the SUV, but did not reveal what the extra space would look like in the front cabin. Now, the company has announced pricing for the South Korean market and along with that it has shared additional photos, including a shot of the front row centre seat.
Here's What We Know
Judging from the photos, the extra seat in the front is not as wide as the driver and passenger seats. But at the same time it doesn't look like a foreign object and most likely it will be comfortable enough to move there for short distances. Something similar can be found in some American full-size pickups.
In addition to the nine-seat version, Hyundai will also sell a seven-seat version of its largest SUV. The gallery below this text shows two configurations of the Palisade:
What's new in the new Hyundai Palisade?
A 2.5-litre turbocharged engine replaces the old 3.8 atmospheric V6. It produces 277bhp and 422Nm, which is less power but more torque than its predecessor. There is a front-wheel drive version and all-wheel drive modification.
Hybrid Palisade: petrol engine for 258 hp and electric motor for 72 hp provide a total power of 329 hp. This is 38 hp more than the previous V6. In this modification is available only front-wheel drive, but the electrified SUV can travel more than 1,000 km on a single tank of 72 litres. The hybrid has a small battery with a capacity of 1.65 kWh.
Among the interesting features it should be noted support for V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology: the ability to use the hybrid car as a paverbank to power devices through the socket in the cabin. It also has Stay Mode, which uses battery power to power the air conditioning and multimedia while parked.
Thicker glass on all doors in the new generation model and an extra layer of door noise insulation should help improve acoustic comfort on journeys. Meanwhile, the Preview Electronic Controlled Suspension system will ensure that the suspension settings are adjusted to provide the smoothest ride possible.
Prices
Prices in South Korea start at the equivalent of $30,200 for the petrol model and $34,300 for the hybrid model. The flagship Calligraphy with electrified powertrain starts at $44,300 excluding options.
Sales of the petrol version of the new Hyundai Palisade will start in mid-January 2025. The hybrid model will appear in the first half of the year after certification is completed.
