Here's What We Know
The TMMF plant began production of the Toyota Yaris in January 2001 with an initial annual capacity of 150,000 units. In 10 years, the Yaris has become the most produced model in France seven times. In 2021, production began on a new B-SUV class model called the Yaris Cross. The latter became the production leader in France in 2022 and 2023. Today, the Yaris Cross is Toyota's best-selling model in Europe, with sales of 173,209 units in the first 10 months of 2024.

The Valenciennes plant produced 273,788 vehicles of the Yaris Cross and Yaris models in 2023, the highest volume among Toyota's five European plants. Every day, 5,000 employees work in production, making more than 1,200 Yaris Cross and Yaris vehicles, all with hybrid powertrains. In total, Toyota has invested €1.6 billion in the development of the TMMF plant, including capital investment for each new generation of models and resources to improve the environmental performance of production.
